“From The Brush Arbor to the Sanctuary”
The Moore’s Sanctuary African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church is progressing into the second phase of the 150th-Year Anniversary Celebration as a house of worship. The 300-member congregation started a year-long celebration of activities October 2019—including praise and worship services, remembrance festivities, and fundraising events.
Moore’s Sanctuary has its beginning in a brush arbor in 1870 on the same grounds where the current sanctuary and family life center is situated.
The visionary behind this 150th-Year Celebration is Rev. Dr. Raymon Hunt, the church’s current spiritual leader and pastor since July 2012. Located at 4101 Morris Field Drive, Charlotte, N.C. 28208, Moore’s Sanctuary is a member of the A. M. E. Zion denomination.
